National Physical Laboratory is the UK’s National Measurement Institute and its HQ in Teddington is where the bouncing bomb was invented during World War II. Today there are 47 labs for measuring, testing and calibrating instruments and BBS were instructed to carry out a full refurbishment, including power, ventilation, lighting and power for fume cupboards etc. The building was occupied throughout the works, so we had to plan carefully to keep disruption to a minimum.
