Bankside substation, part of which is now the Tate Modern, supplies electricity to the City of London and Southwark. It recently underwent a refurbishment and replant to make it more efficient, reduce its carbon emissions and provided zero-carbon heating to Tate Modern. As part of this major project, BBS were instructed to work on the low-voltage electrical installations and mechanical installation to services around the main infrastructure. Work was carried out in accordance with a full working substation environment.
